A distinctive green and yellow paper retriever container is available in the last row of parking on the west side of the Library’s parking lot. This is available 24 hours a day, every day, for easy recycling of paper products.
The Department of Natural Resources and the Library of Michigan have teamed up once again to offer their popular Park & Read program at more than 400 participating libraries across the state.
Bloomfield Township residents with a current Bloomfield Township Public Library card may borrow two items from Cranbrook's Academy of Art Library. In addition, Cranbrook's centennial pass is available to borrow from the Library's circulation desk. Michigan law protects the confidentiality of Library users' records. The records and record of Library items you request or borrow can't be shared with anyone without your consent, unless ordered by a court of law. Copies of the Michigan Library Privacy Act are available upon request at the Circulation desk. A valid Library card must be presented for access to any Library records and record of a person - minor or adult - named on the card.
The Detroit Museum Adventure Pass (MAP) program will continue through February 2013. The new MAP is an online reservation program that allows patrons to print tickets for free or discount admission to cultural attractions.
Upon registering your library card, you must read and agree to sign and abide by the following pledge:
This library card permits me to borrow materials and use services from the Bloomfield Township Public Library. I agree to be financially responsible for all materials borrowed or services used through this card. I agree to abide by all library policies and regulations. This library card is subject to expiration. Responsibility for the choice of materials borrowed rests with the person whose signature appears on this pledge. It is the sole responsibiltiy of the person to whom the Library card belongs for the return of items borrowed and fees and fines accumulated on the card.
Library staff can check out the items you would like to borrow at the Circulation desk. You MUST present your library card or a current and valid photo ID in order for us to access your account.
If you placed a hold on an item, you MUST present the library card on which the hold was placed.
If you have your library card, you can also try our self check-out system. It's easy - give it a try! Just touch the screen to start the process and follow the prompts on the screen. Please see the Circulation staff to check out items borrowed from another library. You MUST present your library card upon checking out interlibrary loan items.
Rental DVDs
Rental DVDs are available for patrons who would like the newest titles without having to wait on a hold list. The first day is free! Return on the due date before the Library closes and there is no charge.
Bloomfield Township residents may check out passes for general admission to Cranbrook, available at the Circulation desk. Two passes per card may be borrowed for two weeks and can be renewed three times. Please return these items in the blue envelope provided and hand directly to a staff member at the Circulation desk.
Detroit Museum Adventure Passes
Bloomfield Township residents and employees, and Birmingham residents may check out Detroit Museum Adventure Passes. One pass per card can be borrowed for one week through September 23, 2011. This program will return for a fifth and final year in late May, 2012 through early September, 2012. At that time, passes will only be available via the program's website: Detroit Adventure Passes.
You can easily connect to our printing system from your portable computer and use any of the payment options normally available when printing from Library computers. Click on the link below to start the auto-installer. After the auto-installer completes, a Print Client will open on your machine. When you are finished and press close or shutdown your computer, the application will disappear.
How do I print wirelessly?
You must first run the application; click the link here.
Once you run the application it will install two printers for you to temporarily use. When you are ready to print, hit the print button on your computer and select either black and white or color.
You will be prompted for a username, type in a name to associate your print jobs to.
When you are ready to release your print job, visit the Computer Center's wireless print release station.
On the print release station, type in your username. This will pull up a list of all print jobs associated with your username.
Insert your copy card or library card into the print release station card reader to fund the jobs. If you need to add additional money to the card then you must visit a card dispensing station.
On the print release station, select the jobs you wish to print and hit the Print button at the top left.
That’s it! The printers will disappear upon restart OR if you are using a Mac, to close the Mac Print Client, select "Quit LPT One Mobile Print Client" from the LPT One Mobile Print Client menu.
