Mondays, July 22 and 29, 2:00-5:00 p.m. both days

In this two-day workshop, kids ages 6-9 will brainstorm plot and characters, write and edit a story, illustrate their book, and much more.  Children must be able to attend both days.  Registration begins July 1.

Wednesday, July 31 at 6:30 p.m.

Beneath the surface, there are caves and mines that are unique worlds all their own.  The Organization for Bat Conservation brings Vampire bats and other cave-dwelling animals to the library in this engaging live animal program.  Informative and fun for the entire family.  No registration required.

Thursday, July 30 at 11:00 a.m.

Cave art comes alive!  Recreate the petrograph art of ancient people.  All ages welcome.  Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by an adult.  No registration required.

Thursday, July 25 at 6:30 p.m.

Mark Rosenthal beings exotic animal "diggers" from around the world, including a Mexican bearded lizard, Aftrical millipedes, a hairy armadillo, a Patagonian cavy and more.  Ages 5 and older.  Due to the unpredictable nature of the "diggers", no younger siblings please.  Registration is not required.

Wednesday, July 24 at 2:00 p.m.

Hold a dinosaur fossil, learn how dinosaurs adapted to their surroundings, and dig for fossils like a palenontologist with scientists from the Cranbrook Institute of Science.  Ages 5-7.  Registration begins July 1.

Thursday, July 18 at 2:00 p.m.

Allergic to fur?  Barking too noisy?  Snakes too scary?  Come create a pet rock, the perfect silent pet!  All ages are welcome.  Children under the age of 6 much be accompanied by an adult.  No registration required.

Wednesday, July 17 at 4:00 p.m.

Learn about the formation of rocks, minerals, and investigate the rock cycle with the Cranbrook Institute of Science.  Ages 8-12.  Registration begins June 24.

For ages 4-8 with a favorite adult, inclusive of children with special needs.

Tuesday, July 9, 2:00-3:30 p.m.

Create whimsical and magical houses for fairies using a variety of natural and synthetic supplies.  Use your imagination to create a perfect land for these little creatures.  Ages 6 and older.  Registration begins June 18.

Tuesday, July 2 at 2:00 p.m.
