Library Closings |
The Library will be closed Monday, December 24 and Tuesday, December 25 for the Christmas Holiday. The Library will reopen, Wednesday, December 26 at 9:30a.m.
The Library also will be closed Monday, December 31 and Tuesday, January 1, 2013 for the New Years Observance. The Library will reopen on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 9:30a.m.

Check out the Friends Second Saturday Super Sale coming up on December 8! These sales are offered each month from 9:30a.m. – 3:30p.m. The first hour is open to members only. Not a Friends member? Memberships are very affordable and available on our website, at the door on the day of the sale or pick up a membership form at the Welcome Desk the next time you visit the Bloomfield Township Public Library.

No matter what the occasion is - a holiday, birthday, anniversary, wedding, new baby, housewarming or just to say thank you - let us help you give a meaningful gift through "Tributes". By giving a Tribute gift to the Library, you express the value you place on reading, learning and your public library.
How do you request a Tribute? It's easy. Just visit the Library website at www.btpl.org and click on "About Us" for further information about donations and for the Tribute form. Tribute forms are also available in the Library. For your convenience, major credit cards are now accepted for your donations. Simply click on the icon to give your gift to the Library.

Vitality Kits
We are pleased to announce that an $8,000 grant has been awarded to the Library by the Community Foundation of Southeast Michigan to fund the purchase of Vitality Kits, a new collection of senior living materials. These Vitality Kits will cover a variety of topics including the loss or impairment of physical strength, movement, memory, vision and hearing to issues associated with Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and other medical issues seniors may be facing. Kits will contain instructional books; DVDs, audio CDs and activities focused on improving the quality of life and will be available to borrow so that patrons may work with these specially developed kits at home.
Our regular monthly programs offered include our Knitting Circle, Tuesdays at the Movies, Memoir Writers' Group and Coffee & Conversations. For a complete program schedule and more information visit our website .

Do you have what it takes to be the next Iron Chef?
Young chefs, ages 8 - 13, can register to compete in the 2nd Annual Iron Chef Bloomfield competition to be held on Saturday, December 15 from 1-2:30p.m! Using the secret ingredient, contestants will try to make the yummiest food possible for our judges. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library. Registration begins November 26.
AMERICAN GIRL TEA PARTY
On December 27 at 2p.m., you are invited to a literary tea party with elements from the various American Girls described in the popular series of historical fiction books. Dress up if you’d like, and come celebrate being an American Girl in 2013! Ages 7 and older. Registration begins November 26.

Computers |
The Library continues to offer a variety of hands-on computer classes, such as Introduction to Powerpoint and Introduction to Microsoft Word.
Registration is required and classes are open to Bloomfield Township residents only. Review our complete schedule of computer classes and sign up today! Register here , by telephone at (248) 642-5800 or in person at the Library. Have your Bloomfield Township Public Library card ready to register. Basic computer skills are required except for the class Introduction to Computers.
