These sales are offered each month from 9:30a.m. – 3:30p.m. The first hour is open to members only. Not a Friends member? Digital Bookmobile is coming to Bloomfield! |
Bloomfield Township Public Library invites you to visit us at the Digital Bookmobile on Friday, June 15, from 12noon to 6p.m. at Bloomfield Township Halls’ Exeter Road parking lot! Learn how to download eBooks, audiobooks and more! This high tech bookmobile is equipped with internet-connected PCs, high definition monitors and premium sound systems. A variety of portable media players, such as Kindle, iPod touch, Android tablet, NOOK, Sony Reader and more, will be available to try out in the Gadget Gallery. Interactive computer stations will allow visitors an opportunity to search and try out ebooks, audiobooks and music from the Library. Prizes and more will be available too! Come visit us on the Digital Bookmobile and have fun with this interactive experience!
The Digital Bookmobile is a service of Bloomfield Township Public Library and is operated by OverDrive, Inc.

Seven reproductions of Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) masterpieces have been placed around Bloomfield, including two at the Library! Sponsored by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, 2012 is the third year for the DIA to bring framed reproductions into outdoor spaces throughout Southeast Michigan creating grand, open air galleries. From now through June, enjoy these masterpieces right in your own backyard!
As part of the fun, we invite you to complete a passport to enter for a chance to win a free one year membership to the DIA! Visit all seven works of art displayed and get your passport validated for each work viewed at each location. Fill out your contact information and return your completed passport to the Library. A drawing will be held on July 2, 2012 and the lucky winner will be notified.

Library Garden Tour
Jim Slezinski of Goldner Walsh, the designer of the library’s gardens will be here Tuesday, July 10 from 7 – 8:30p.m., to take enthusiasts on a tour of the library’s different gardens. Registration is required and is open to Bloomfield Township residents only until one week before the tour.
From Page to Screen with Stars in Between: Elmore Leonard and Peter Leonard
Mark your calendars for July 26 at 7p.m., to hearlegendary novelist and screenwriter Elmore Leonard, together with his critically acclaimed writer son Peter, talk about their own Hollywood stories. Registration is required and is open to Bloomfield Township residents only until one week before the tour.
Our regular monthly programs which include our Coffee and Conversations, Writers’ Rendezvous, and Memoir Writers’ has been expanded to include a Wednesday Be a Star Movie Matinee and an After-Hours Teen Lock In.

Talent Show
Do you dream of being in the spotlight? Always telling jokes? Singing in the shower? Think you’re the best spoon balancer in the Midwest? You can show off your amazing talent at BTPL’s Talent Show! Budding stars, ages 7+, who want to participate are invited to audition.

SWIM NIGHT AT THE NATATORIUM
Join us on Saturday, July 28 from 6-8p.m. for swimming fun for the entire family at the Williams Natatorium at Cranbrook. Register and pick up your ticket at the Library beginning July 7. A ticket is required for every person attending this special event.
What’s Your Dream?
Do you dream of being an adventurer? An athlete? How about a Superhero? Each week this summer we will be featuring a new theme for our Dream Big: Read! Summer Reading Program. Throughout the month of July, you can go on a Library Scavenger Hunt; participate in our BTPL Summer games along with Campfire Tales and Lego Club.

This month the Library is offering a variety of hands-on computer classes, from Computer Basics 2 and Ebooks: Free from the Library to Microsoft Excel.
