Joseph Falik Joins Library Board
The Bloomfield Township Public Library Board of Trustees is pleased to welcome Joseph Falik to the Board. Mr. Falik is filling a vacancy on the Board created by the resignation of Trustee Lyle Dahlberg. The Library Board unanimously selected Mr. Falik to be appointed to the position of Trustee based on his strong legal, fundraising and volunteer experience. Mr. Falik brings similar assets to the Board as those of Mr.Dahlberg.
Library Board President Judy Lindstrom stated that, “This was a very difficult decision on the part of the Trustees. Any one of the eight candidates would have been a tremendous asset on the Board”.
A long time Bloomfield Township resident, Mr. Falik is an independent mediator and recently retired from his position as General Counsel to a large Detroit area corporation. His expertise in strategic planning and budgeting are especially relevant to the Library in these challenging economic times. Mr. Falik shared that “the Bloomfield Township Public Library is an outstanding institution -- both in the quality of its information services, and in its role in building and sustaining Bloomfield Township as a community. I'm honored and enthusiastic about serving on the Board."
Mr. Falik will be issued the oath of office by Bloomfield Township Clerk Jan Roncelli on August 16, 2011 at 6:30pm, prior to the regular Library Board meeting. Everyone is invited to attend.
