E-BOOK NEWS!
 Our downloadable e-book collection, Metro Net Online Lending Library
from OverDrive, Inc., now includes e-books in Mobipocket format. Mobipocket has been called the "holy grail" of e-books because it can be
used to read e-books on everything from desktop computers to handheld digital assistants and smartphones.
We will still have downloadable e-books in Adobe format, but our Palm
e-books will be converted to Mobipocket as of June 1.

What is the Metro Net Online Lending Library?
The Metro Net Library Consortium, of which Bloomfield Township Public Library is a member, has
purchased rights to over 800 e-books for their patrons' use.
E-books are books -- anything from Spider Man to Shakespeare -- read on a screen rather than paper. Our new collection from OverDrive, a leading developer of e-book services gives you these advantages:
- You download OverDrive e-books to your own PC, laptop, any handheld PDA device or smartphone. No web connection is needed after that. The required "reader" software is free from the web.
- On screen reading is as close as possible to a printed book, including photos and art -- with the advantage of full-text searching and bookmarking.
