Library Director Karen Kotulis-Carter recently announced her retirement, effective August 1, 2013. The Library Board of Trustees formed a Director Search Committee who was charged with overseeing the hiring process for a new library director.
The position of Bloomfield Township Public Library Director was posted widely with the Michigan Library Association and the American Library Association. On-site interviews with the top candidates have been scheduled for Monday, June 17, 2013.
Beginning May 24, library users with a valid library card from one of Michigan's nearly 400 public libraries can print a Michigan Activity Pass (MAP) pass to one of the nearly 60 participating institutions at the http://michiganactivitypass.info website. Some cultural partners offer complimentary or reduced price admission. Others offer discounts in their gift shop or other exclusive offers for MAP pass holders only. The Michigan Activity Pass (formerly Museum Adventure Pass) allows Library cardholders to print a pass that grants free or reduced-fee admission, or other discounts, at nearly 60 participating institutions statewide.

On Thursday, March 14, starting at 6:30am, the library will perform some systems maintenance. The following services will not be available for about three hours: Library catalog (including phone and web renewal), online databases, and meeting room booking. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
The Bloomfield Township Public Library Board of Trustees is pleased to welcome Eli Greenbaum to the Board. Mr. Greenbaum is filling a vacancy on the Board created by the resignation of Trustee Joseph Falik. Mr. Greenbaum brings an outstanding list of qualifications to the position. The trustees supported his appointment because of his experience and expertise in many areas, including his past and current involvement with our Library on strategic planning and 50th anniversary committees.
The Library will be closed on Saturday, March 30 and Sunday, March 31 for the Easter Weekend Observance and as an unpaid staff furlough day. The Library will reopen on Monday, April 1 at 9:30a.m. Our virtual doors are always open!
