MIKE LUPICA
Come hear bestselling sports columnist and young adult author Mike Lupica speak at the Library on Friday, September 14 at 7p.m. His newest novel, True Legend, will be released on September 4. The story is about a high school phenom with a once-in-a-generation talent, struggling to make the right choices among the predatory agents and sponsors that line up for real-life kids like True, hoping to hitch their wagons to a future star. Copies of the book ,True Legend, will be available for purchase and signing.
In addition to writing many novels, Mike Lupica also is a columnist for the New York Daily News and can be seen weekly on ESPN’s The Sports Reporters and heard daily on ESPN Radio’s “The Mike Lupica Show.” Everyone is welcome – registration is preferred.
MADCAP PUPPET SHOW
Join us at the Library on Sunday, October 14 at 2pm for a special performance by Madcap Puppets of “When you Wish Upon a Fish!” The famous Grimm brothers take the stage in this popular show. The brothers have three completely different versions of the fisherman and his wife and can’t decide which fishy talk to choose for their book. Each outrageous version includes audience participation, a magical talking fish and a surprise ending. Don’t miss this hilarious slapstick adventure! Everyone is invited – no registration is required for this program, part of the Bloomfield Township open house celebration.

Tutors provide instruction in English, Math, Science and Social Studies for students in grades 4 through 12 using a real-time shared computer chat and whiteboard session. Available every day from 4p.m. to 10p.m.
PUBLIC FAX SERVICE Now Available at the Library
The Library has contracted with a company called FAX24 to provide a public fax machine within the building. Located in the Computer Center, this is a self-service fax machine to send a fax only. Voice instructions from the telephone handset guide the user through the entire process. Visa, Master Card, AMEX and Discover credit cards are accepted for payment of this service.

IT CAME FROM THE LIBRARY AFTER-HOURS LOCK-IN FOR TEENS To celebrate Teen Read Week, teens, aged 13-18, are invited to spend the evening of Friday, October 19 taking part in fun games and activities. Refreshments will be provided. Doors open at 6:30pm and close at 7:00 pm for a two-hour lock-in. Online registration is required prior to the event. PUMPKIN PAINTING
Drop-in on Tuesday, October 23 at 6:30p.m., with your own plain pumpkin and leave with a painted masterpiece. You supply the pumpkin, we supply the paint and dazzle. Fun for the whole family.
ZOMBIE TRAINING 101
Are you ready for the zombie apocalypse? Join us on Wednesday, October 24 at 7p.m., to learn escape techniques and practice doing battle against the undead. For kids ages 8 and older. Registration begins October 1.

Classes being offered include Going Online & Introduction to Email and Using the Computer & Library Resources. The Library continues to offer a variety of hands-on computer classes, such as EBooks: Free from the Library and Introduction to Microsoft Scanning & Photo Editing.
