This Month in History: Titanic Discovered
Twenty-eight years ago this month, on September 1, the remains of the RMS Titanic were found on the floor of the Atlantic Ocean. Rushed to port, and widely believed to be “unsinkable”, Titanic held only enough lifeboats for roughly one third of its passengers. Found over seventy-three years after the sinking of the world’s first great luxury cruise ship, this discovery offered closure to many survivors as well as the loved ones of those who perished on the fateful voyage. The library offers a variety of books and DVDs for individuals interested in learning more on this world-shattering event.
