| 2005 Jeanette P. Myers Scholarship Awarded
The 2005 winners of the Jeanette P. Myers Memorial Scholarship offered by the Bloomfield Township Public Library were announced at the August 2005 meeting of the Library's Board of Trustees. Twins, Robert and Albert Lin of Bloomfield Hills, each won a portion of the annual scholarship of $500 or more, augmented by contributions from the Library staff and Rodman N. Myers, Library Trustee. The Lins are both 2004 graduates of Lahser High School and attending Duke University. The family of Jeanette P. Myers was on hand to award the scholarships. The Library Trustees commended the selection committee on the difficult choices each year among scholarship applicants. Each applicant is required to provide a brief essay of educational, personal, or professional goals, in addition to supplying their educational history, relationship to BTPL, and the intended use of scholarship. The Jeanette P. Myers Memorial Scholarship Fund is a named fund of the Community Foundation for Southeastern Michigan, established in memory of Mrs. Myers, an Adult Services Librarian of the Bloomfield Township Public Library. Applications for the scholarship are accepted throughout the year with the annual deadline of June 1.
