All public Internet computers require user login. These include all Internet stations at the Computer Center (including two iMac stations), Computer Lab, Adult Services Reference Table, Business and Investment Table, Local History Table, Teen Room, and Youth Services.

Residents will use their library card number to login at a Resident computer.  Guests will use either their TLN registered library card or request a Guest pass to use a Guest computer. Please note that an ID is required to obtain a Guest pass.

The public computers allow you to access the Internet, use a number of Microsoft Office programs, burn CDs, watch DVDs, listen to music, scan and edit photos, and edit movies.

There are no time limits on computer use for residents. Guests may use 2 hours of computer time per day.

Patrons are encouraged to bring their own memory sticks/drives to save their work.

Our public computers also offer the following software:  Microsoft Office 2010, Power DVD DX, Roxio Creator Home, Real Player, Windows Media Player, MOIS for Windows, OverDrive Media Console, Paint, QuickTime Player, Word Pad, Windows Movie Maker, Adobe Reader 8, and HP Photosmart Premier

The computer lab offers patrons a space to enjoy the library’s various computer classes. The lab provides patrons with all the equipment they need for any class and a quiet environment in which to learn. Check out the technology courses available.

Black and white and color printing and copying are available from our public computers and copiers at .15/page for b&w and .50/page for color. A copy card (available for purchase $1 with $.50 initial value) or the full size BTPL library card (loaded with funds via Copy Card Manager Unit) are necessary to retrieve the print jobs.

Remote printing is now available at BTPL! You can submit documents or photos for printing from any Wi-Fi or Internet connect device (smartphone, tablet, laptop) no matter where you are.

Come to the library the same day to release and pick up your documents or photos in the Library’s Computer Center with your email address.

How to Use PrinterOn from a PC:
Begin by visiting: http://www.printeron.net/btpl/library
Choose your printer:
Black and White
Color
Enter your email address.
Browse your computer to find and select the file you wish to print.
Click the green print icon.
You will see the status of your print job and a reference number.
On the same day, come to the Computer Center at the library.
At the Self Service Station, select “Release a Print Job”.
Enter the email address you supplied.
Select the print job you wish to print.
Note: You will not be able to edit your document
Click on print.
Your print job will be printed!

How to Use the PrinterOn App:
Install the PrinterOn App.
Open the PrinterOn App.
Click “No printer selected”.
Click “Location”
Click “Search”. Search for “48302”.
Find Bloomfield Twp Pub Library and click “Black and White” printer, save.
Find Bloomfield Twp Pub Library again and click to add the “Color” printer.
To print a document: open the PrinterOn app and select document . Browse to the location of the file. Or open the document and click in the right corner, and select open with PrinterOn.
To print a photo from your phone: open the app, click on “photo” and select a photo to print.
To print from the web: open the app, click “web” and enter the URL of the site you wish to print.
Select which printer you wish to print to.
Click the print icon in the upper right corner.
Enter an email address and click on the check mark.
You will receive a notice that the job started, and shortly after another message stating “Job Success”.
Come to the Computer Center at the library on the same day.
At the Self Service Station, select “Release a Print Job”.
Enter the email address you supplied.
Select the print job you wish to print.
Note: You will not be able to edit your document.
Click on print.
Your print job will be printed!

How to Email a document to printer:
From any device or pc, open/login to your email account
Start a new message, attach what you would like to print
In the To: field type btpl-bw@printspots.com to print to black and white
In the To: field type btpl-color@printspots.com to print to color
Click send and your document will send to the release station; you should get a confirmation email back if the document was sent successfully
On the same day, come to the Computer Center at the library
At the Self Service Station, select “Release a Print Job”
Enter the email address that you sent the document from
Select the print job you wish to print
Note: You will not be able to edit your document
Click on print
Your print job will be printed!

 

 

 

Our public fax machine powered by Fax24 is located in the Computer Center. This is a self service fax machine to send a fax only.  Visa, MC, AMEX, and Discover credit cards are accepted for payment of this service.

The costs to send a fax are:

$1.50 first page sent in the USA
$1.00 for each additional page sent in the USA
$4.95 first page sent internationally
$3.45 each additional page sent internationally

The Early Literacy Stations in the Youth Department are filled with educational games for children ages 2-10. These games span more than seven curricular areas, such as arithmetic and spelling.

  1. You must first visit the BTPL wireless printing page here.
  2. Select whether you would like a black & white or color print.
  3. Enter your email address (this will strictly be used to uniquely identify your print job).
  4. Select the file you wish to print or enter the URL of the web page you want printed.
  5. Click the green print icon.
  6. When you are ready to release your print job, visit either of the Computer Center’s two print release stations.
  7. On the print release station, type in your email address. This will pull up a list of all print jobs associated with your email address.
  8. Insert your copy card or library card into the print release station card reader to fund the jobs. If you need to add additional money to the card then you must visit a card dispensing station.
  9. On the print release station, select the jobs you wish to print and hit the Print button at the top left.
  10. That’s it! Your print will be dispensed automatically and print release station card returned.
